Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. is the major public transport operator in the territory of the Czech Republic. Almost two thousand metro trains, trams and buses are dispatched every day in Prague and the surrounding region. Prague Public Transit Co. Inc., with the City of Prague as its one hundred per cent owner, was established in 1991 and continues a rich, more than one-hundred-year-old history of its predecessors. |

National timetable information system The National Information System of the public line passenger transport timetables (hereinafter CIS JR only) is an information system containing data on transport connections. The company CHAPS spol. s r.o. (Ltd) has been authorized by the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic and Ministry of Informatics of the Czech Republic to run the CIS JR as a part of the Information System of the Public Administration (ISVS) and to collect timetables of bus, railway, air, water and municipal public transport. Timetables of bus transport are supplied to the CIS JR by transport authorities approving particular timetables, other timetables are supplied by carriers operating particular lines. |

Since very old times, the Vltava river had nfluenced the life of Prague. Here, steam navigation had been a very important episode, changing not only the character of the Vltava river-sides but also the way of living of the city´s inhabitants. Steamers and passenger ship transport have belonged to Prague since the forties of the 19th century, and till nowadays they are an historic component of the city´s colours. |
